Cecile Benjamin came to PNG is 1972 to work for the Department of Agriculture after graduating with a degree is Agricultural Science, she was the first woman in PNG to qualify as a scuba diving instructor (F.A.U.I.) in 1982. These days Cecile runs a gift shop at the resort and is Walindi’s resident history buff knowledgeable about all the details of local wrecks on land and underwater, as well as countess other bits and pieces of local lore.
